After several near misses with Hurricanes and Tropical Storms, The Houston area is finally getting a soaking. Tropical Storm Beta has brought a bit of localized flooding in the usual low lying areas, with the obligatory street and freeway closures. As always seems to be the case, someone loses their car by driving into water that’s just a little too deep. Remember, you can’t tell how deep it really is, so don’t risk it. Thankfully there has been little to no wind to contend with. Just heavy rain.
Where I live is not in danger of flooding, so I don’t have that to worry about. I’m devoting my down time to some indoor organizing around the house, and collecting as much rainwater as I can, for use in the gardens later.
